Mr Alex Shortt is a highly trained academic researcher and consultant ophthalmic surgeon in London’s famous Harley Street medical district.
He trained and worked as a consultant for 14 years at London’s
Moorfields Eye Hospital and specialises in advanced technologies for correcting vision, including stem cell transplants, corneal transplants,
lens implants and laser vision correction.
His motivation for helping people with poor eyesight grew from witnessing his great-aunt having life changing cataract surgery when he was 7 years old. Since then he has qualified first in his class in both medical school and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists' Membership examinations and has been awarded numerous prizes and distinctions for his work and research in helping the blind to see.
